Life's Little Instructions

April 1, 2020
Adapted by Elden Kingston Gustafson; Original publication by Richard Snell

Treat everyone you meet like you want to be treated.

Strive for perfection.

Never miss a chance to tell someone you love them.

Clean up your mess at grandma’s house.

Leave everything a little better than you found it.

Be the most positive and enthusiastic person you know.

Be forgiving of yourself and others.

Avoid negative people.

Commit yourself to constant improvement .

Always carry jumper cables in your trunk.

Be the first to say “Hello”.

Take responsibility for every area of your life.

Stop blaming others.

Return borrowed things immediately.

Return borrowed vehicles with a full gas tank.

Be there when people need you.

Don’t expect life to be fair.

Never underestimate the power of love.

Don’t be afraid to say, “I made a mistake”.

Don’t be afraid to say, “I don’t know”.

Say, “Thank you” a lot.  Say, “Please” a lot.

Look people in the eye.

Keep secrets.

Always accept an outstretched hand.

Rekindle old friendships.

Keep your promises (no matter what).

Count your blessings.

Don’t say,“Someday” or “One day” do it now.

Each morning say, “This will be a special day”.

Call your mother.
