CO-OP SERVICE PROJECTS

October 2019 Service Projects

October 31, 2019

Five volunteer projects were running over four weekends throughout October:

October 5th; Old Roof Removal for Elderly Member

The first weekend of October had two projects happening at once. The first was at an elderly member's home where volunteers removed her aging roof and helped install a new one.

October 5th; Garden Landscaping

The second project of this weekend was at another member's home, where volunteers helped the homeowner landscape his garden and get it cleaned out before the winter snow hit.

Thank you to all the wonderful volunteers who came and helped these members! Both projects of the weekend had a combined total of 84 volunteer hours.

October 12th; Fencing for elderly member in Kaysville, UT

This weekend had a crew of volunteers come to an elderly member's home to help him install another fence in his yard.

51 Volunteer hours for this week.

October 19th; Yard Cleanup and Maintenance for a young family

A young family asked the service group for help with their yard's fall cleanup.

Volunteers helped with tasks like:

  • Cleaning up garbage in field behind the house
  • Weed out field grass
  • Cut down trees
  • Removing old wood piles
  • Raking leaves

This weekend had 48 volunteer hours!

October 31st; Halloween Carnival

Getting into the Halloween spirit, there was a call for volunteers to help supervise the different activities that would be taking place. The event was so much fun for everyone that attended and we appreciated everyone who volunteered to help things run smoothly!

Volunteer positions included:

  • Managing Halloween games
  • Monitoring inflatable slides and bounce houses
  • Monitoring restrooms for the facility
  • Concessions

October was an amazing month for the Service Projects and we appreciated the help we were able to get from everyone. From the first three weekends, we received a grand total of 183 volunteer hours!! We received so much help at the carnival that we weren't able to count our volunteers, but that figure likely doubled from that day alone!

Keep up the Good Work!!
