YouTube Video Claims Ex-Members Pushed Lawsuit Frivilously

December 1, 2023

In September 2022, plaintiffs filed a civil lawsuit against a number of DCCS members and up to 200 un-named defendants. Plaintiffs included Jeremy Roberts, Amanda Grant and other parties. Legal counsel for the plaintiffs was lawyer-turned-TV-producer Roger Hoole.

The lawsuit made numerous broad organizational and personal claims against individuals in the DCCS. The DCCS responded, calling the lawsuit "frivolous and unfounded."

The lawsuit was dismissed only 5 months after it was filed, with plaintiffs promising to refile in a different venue.

A recent video on YouTube purports to have audio recordings of plaintiff Jeremy Roberts claiming ex-members can make whatever claims they want to "win their way" and "society will be on your side about it because their parents are polygamists."

The video also depicts a number of incidents of plaintiffs making statements that contradict the claims that were filed in the initial lawsuit.
