On Saturday, Governor Herbert signed SB 102 into law reducing the crime of bigamy among consenting adults to an infraction. The bill made its way through the Legislature passing through the Senate, House and accompanying committees with only 3 nay votes overall.

We support Senator Henderson in her efforts and we support SB 102. While we believe SB 102 does not go far enough in removing unfair and unconstitutional enhancements, it offers a marginal improvement to the status quo for plural families.
