2021 DCCS High School Grad Rates Surpass Utah and US Despite Downtick, Female Rate Highest on Record

July 1, 2021

The 2021 on-time high school graduation rate for DCCS members was 93.1% which continues to surpass the rates of Utah and the US.[1][2]  This year's graduation rates show a slight downtick from the record high DCCS rate of 95.8% reported last year (2020).  On-time graduation is defined as those students who complete an accredited high school diploma within 4 years of beginning their high school program.

The 2020-21 academic year continued to be impacted by Covid pandemic restrictions throughout the State, with some Utah school districts shedding their mask mandates only days or weeks before graduation.

Despite the overall downtick, the rate of on-time graduation for DCCS females increased to a record high of 95.8% in 2021.
